Founded in 1952, Sluistex created a strong position with a solid business network in Europe and the United States until the 1980s. Then China opened its markets and the world changed tremendously. In those days Bob van der Sluis took over the family business and went to the Far East to develop a completely new line of business. Nowadays Sluistex is one of the leading enterprises in distributing Asian industrial textiles in Europe.
WHAT WE DO
We supply Asian textile products for different end uses, with our own staff in China, Korea and Taiwan. We develop and produce custom-made fabrics and we are extensively capable of producing woven and knitted fabrics for the home fashions, contract, industrial- and automotive markets.

HOW WE DO IT
Sluistex operates very strictly according to the demanded specifications. Whether it is material for the seats of a luxurious car, for a slipsole for medical purposes, or for a theater curtain; All materials are scientifically tested on qualifications like elasticity, fire retardency, colour fastness, endurance, etc. All according to the requirements of the end user.
- Fire retarding fabrics
Our fire retardant textiles are distributed in Europe to the final end customers through our distributing partners. Together with our partners we continously develop new textiles for this market, such as dimouts, blackouts and linnenlook products. All passing the requiered flame retardancy standards, such as M1, B1 and IMO.
- Industrial textile
Sluistex is closely involved in the development of innovative textile for a broad spectrum of the industry. Starting from the specific demands from our customers, we evaluate yarn composition, fabric construction, dyeing techniques and finishing processes, all to determine the best method to make your product. We have developed textiles such as base materials for shoe insoles with silver, anti-static fabrics, base materials for coating companies, and spacer fabrics. Our main strength in this field are fabrics made from filament polyester, woven or knitted. On demand we can keep goods on stock for just in time deliveries.
- Textile for digital printing
Since 2006 we have been developing textiles specifically for this market. Our products are used for wide width digital printing, mainly for advertising purposes and for interior decoration. Products for this market include for example, backlight materials, blockout fabrics, and textiles with high abrasion for upholstery. A variety of these goods are on stock in Holland.
